Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in Canada, the United States, some of the Caribbean islands, and Liberia. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States, and around the same part of the year in other places. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday as well.
At CEIP Torrequebrada, our amazing Conversation Teacher taught us about tradition of Thanksgiving day. Furthermore, we listened an interesting tale and we did awesome activities around this festivity.
El Día de Acción de Gracias es una fiesta nacional celebrada en Canadá, en los Estados Unidos, en algunas islas del Caribe y Liberia. Comenzó como un día de dar gracias a Dios por la bendición de la cosecha y del año anterior. El Día de Acción de Gracias se celebra el segundo lunes de octubre en Canadá y el cuarto jueves de noviembre en los Estados Unidos, y alrededor de la misma temporada del año en otros lugares.
